Especially over the investment time horizon. I may for example believe that a house in Detroit today is grossly under-priced at $20,000 but I still won't buy it if my investment model depends on reselling it in a couple of years. So relative value is critical for goods that won't be consumed, depreciated or devalued completely. That is not the case with the labor market.
